Beyond Ourselves Zambia came to us needing a digital platform that could support their vital education work across the Copperbelt region. As an organisation empowering community schools since 2008, they required a website that would do more than just share their story — it needed to function as a practical tool for teachers and members accessing resources and support materials.

The challenge was to create a responsive, user-friendly site that could host a comprehensive resource library alongside a secure member login system. We needed to develop thoughtful information architecture that would make navigation intuitive for users with varying levels of digital literacy, while integrating analytics and tracking features to help BOZ understand how their resources were being used. The design had to be clean and accessible, ensuring teachers in Zambia could easily find what they needed to support their students.

We partnered with Beyond Ourselves Zambia to develop a dedicated resource website that would serve their community of teachers and supporters. Starting with a comprehensive sitemap, we mapped out clear user journeys to ensure intuitive navigation throughout the site. Our team then designed and built the core pages — including the Homepage, About Page, and Contact Page — creating a welcoming digital space that reflects BOZ’s mission to empower education in Zambia.

The platform was built with functionality and ease of use at its heart, delivering several key features:

Resource Library: An easy-to-update library equipped with filter and sort options, making it simple for teachers to find the materials they need.
Member Login: Personalised accounts for teachers, providing secure access to the full resource library.
Analytics and Tracking: Built-in monitoring of downloads and page visits to help BOZ understand how their resources were being used.
Testing and Launch: A thorough testing phase followed by a coordinated launch to ensure everything worked seamlessly from day one.

The result is a robust, user-friendly platform that supports Beyond Ourselves Zambia’s vital work in education development, giving teachers the tools and resources they need to make a real difference in their communities.

How We Delivered

Understanding the Brief & User Journeys

We started by getting to know Beyond Ourselves Zambia's mission and their users — teachers accessing educational resources in Zambia. We created a detailed sitemap to map out user journeys, ensuring the site would be intuitive and easy to navigate for educators with varying levels of digital confidence.

Design & Planning

With the sitemap in place, we designed the key pages including the Homepage, About Page, and Contact Page. Our focus was on creating a clean, accessible design that would work seamlessly across devices and make the resource library the hero of the site.

Development & Key Features

We built a robust resource library with filter and sort functionality, making it easy for teachers to find what they need. We integrated a member login system for personalised accounts, and set up analytics to track downloads and page visits so BOZ could understand how their resources were being used.
