Background

We were immediately drawn to Beyond Ourselves and their mission to provide quality education to children in Zambia. Their vision of giving every child the chance to break free from poverty through literacy training really resonated with us, and we knew we had to get involved. As a values-driven website agency based in Wimborne (Dorset), we were thrilled to help them out and support their mission.

Challenge

Beyond Ourselves needed a multi-page responsive website that was user-friendly and integrated with ChurchSuite. They needed a website that showcased their vision, mission, and work in the education sector. Plus, they wanted a website that was easy to maintain and optimised for search engines.

Solution

Built on WordPress, we created a multi-page responsive website for Beyond Ourselves that was both easy-to-use and dynamic. We included a dynamic grid for resources that had filters and sort capability, an embeddable ChurchSuite donate form and supported them with expert content structuring recommendations.

To optimise the website for search engines, we performed website speed optimisation to increase load speeds, added technical markup to ensure that search engines would understand the site, and added structured data and Schema.org markup. We also set up Google and Bing accounts to register the website and sitemap file.

Results

The website we created for Beyond Ourselves was more than just a success – it helped raise awareness about their cause and showcased their vision and mission. With an intuitive design, the website was easy to navigate, providing a thoroughly considered and engaging user experience. Beyond Ourselves received more relevant traffic from organic search, and the website speed optimisation made it super fast. We also gave them training on the content management system. As with all of our website projects, we removed 1 tonne CO2 and planted 50 trees.
